In late 2020, Wentz formed the hard rock duo, 51st State with bassist/keyboardist Conor MacGinnis ("Big Mac"). The band has recorded a 3-song EP, (Wentz on vocals, guitar, and drums and MacGinnis on bass and keyboard), which was recorded at One The Fringe Studio and released in July, 2021. The  band has been performing at area clubs and also did several Food Trucks of America events in Newport, RI and Salem, MA to promote the EP.
